Software Development

AlTion has extensive software development skills with particular emphasis on Oracle, with UNIX development based on Java, C, Embedded SQL, C++ and Motif.  PC platform development is delivered using Visual C++, Visual Basic.

Consulting

NSS solutions are complex software systems and there is a major need to develop solution requirements that are both technically viable and deliver the customers business needs.  AlTion can provide consultant engineers to work with customers and partners to rapidly develop accurate and consistent solution requirements.  Because we specialise in inventory, provisioning and activation we can use our experience to advise customers and avoid known pit falls.

System Configuration

AlTion works with products and solutions, which are designed to provide maximum flexibility to meet diverse requirements in terms of network inventory and customer processes. This is achieved using data driven models, which are used to model each customers unique network configuration and business processes. A key capability required is to be able to translate real world arrangements into data and software model configurations Having worked on inventory and provisioning projects on major telecom sites AlTion bring a wealth of modelling expertise which eliminates costly configuration errors and future proofs the models for un-foreseen requirements.

Data Migration

Another major source of complexity arises in migrating data from legacy systems and the element management layer. AlTion have a proven track record in migrating these diverse data systems, which may use totally incompatible data models. This involves the translation of legacy data to the solution standard model and the correct lining up of data coming from separate data sources. 

Support

AlTion have amassed significant expertise in supporting inventory and provisioning solutions and have a dedicated Help Desk facility in place. AlTion replicates our client's environment at the AlTion base. We literally create a mirror of our clients system, so we can look straight into our clients network and see the problems as they occur. This allows us to manage faults and problems remotely and ensure rapid response times. AlTion have also developed a sophisticated change management procedure for software, configuration and data changes to ensure that all changes are reviewed, approved, updated and tested prior to deployment
